I SOLISTI Belgian wind ensemble Antwerp

Innovative, versatile, surprising. Classical music with a creative twist, that is what I SOLISTI stands for. Under the inspiring leadership of artistic director and founding father Francis Pollet, the ensemble, founded 30 years ago as a traditional wind octet, has grown into an internationally known production house with an eye for dramaturgy and experiences. I SOLISTI gives opportunities to young talented artists and produces adventurous programs of opera and music theatre with excellent musicians.

I SOLISTI unites famed musicians with a solid reputation as a soloist and orchestra or chamber musician. A permanent core of 25 musicians is expanded or restricted, depending on the project. Reflecting on 250 wind[r]evolution we make a varied and colourful spectrum of original projects, going from intimate chamber music, impressive masterpieces, creations and surprising opera- and music theatre for young and old to supporting young musicians and composers with I SOLISTI ACADEMY and releasing fascinating recordings. The ensemble, in residence at the Conservatory of Antwerp and campus resident of deSingel International Arts Campus, fulfills a unique position within the Belgian music landscape and is structurally subsidized by the Flemish Government.
