YOUNG COMPOSERS LAB
I SOLISTI Young Composers Lab challenges young composers to dive into the world of composing for visual media for one week. With in-depth guidance from experienced composers, you will learn to write your own soundtrack to a silent short film. During work sessions, I SOLISTI will perform every new composition.
I SOLISTI Young Composers Lab takes place from August 20th until 25th 2018. On Saturday night there will be a public concert of the new compositions, performed by I SOLISTI.
Wat does Young Composers Lab have to offer?
- In-depth guidance and coaching from experienced composers
- Rehearsals and work sessions with musicians from I SOLISTI and conductor
- A live-recording of your own doundtrack, which you can use afterwards for your portfolio
The possibility exists that your composition will be included in the program of I SOLISTI during one of the following seasons.
We address mainly students composition and young composers who graduated no more than 5 years ago. To guarantee the quality of the coaching, places at the Young Composers Lab are limited to about 8 persons.
Schedule of Young Composers Lab
Before registration, we invite you to choose a short film from the list (see downloads below). To qualify, you need to send in a short frament (2 minutes). If your application is confirmed, you can start to work independently on your score. Make sure that the score is largely finished before the start of the masterclass week.
During Young Composers Lab you will add further refinements to your film score based on the coaches’ and musicians’ feedback. All participants work together towards the public concert with live performances of the compositions by I SOLISTI.
